1st Thazhathangady Heritage Fest Starts 15th
3 day Heritage Fest at Thazhathangady starts 15th Jan. Attractions include Fireworks on all three days and aerial acrobatics by Air Force fighter planes.
Update: The 2nd edition of Thazhathangady Heritage Fest is on 28th, 29th & 30th January 2011.
Kottayam’s Western suburb – Thazhathangady is now one among Kerala’s Heritage Zones (declared by the Govt. of Kerala). And to celebrate this, Kottayam West Club have organized “Heritage Fest”, a 3 day event.
Dates: 15,16,17 January 2010
Venue: Boat race course and the banks
Time: 3 pm to 9 pm
Entry: Open to all
Pedal-boating & house-boating, water sports, cultural programmes and naadan food joints – all three days.

Fireworks – Chinese style - 16th, Saturday
Aerial Acrobatics test run featuring 4 Suryakiran fighter planes
Fireworks – Kottayam style - 17th, Sunday
Aerial Acrobatics featuring 9 Suryakiran fighter planes

My place of birth Thazhathangadi got its recognition from the public of Kottayam and its neighbourhood through the participation in mass. The travel in our Meenachil River has its own charm and creates nostalgia.
Hope Thazhathangadi will attract more tourists from home and abroad.
