The Softy Cone Ice Cream at the Anand Theatre‘s snack bar is so good. It’s actual cream rather than flavoured ice.

The 70ft wide Shastri Road dates back to the early 70s. The foresightedness in the project is now paying dividends. It’s probably the only road inside town without constantly crawling traffic.

The Kalpaka Super Market was opened in the late 60s. It too, was a bold move. The concept of Department Stores was too faint at that time. It still functions nicely!

2 of the very few railway tunnels in Kerala are in Kottayam. That too, inside town-limits (near Rubber Board and Plantation Corporation buildings).

Thali & Meenachil’s juice & dessert joint – Sip n’ Scoop - has got some unique and rich Sundaes.

The pastries at the Little Bites bakery are served chilled. That’s a yummy first for a bakery in town. And needless to say, they are so good!

The Indian Coffee Houses at Kollam and Thampanoor, TVM are two other architecturally characteristic branches.
