As scheduled, 6 Suryakiran fighter jets had their warm up flight above the race course at Thazhathangady, Saturday evening. They did 4 rounds and then left. Here’s the entire warm-up performance under 1 minute.
They’ll be back on Sunday for the real deal. Nine of them.

Kottayam’s Western suburb – Thazhathangady is now one among Kerala’s Heritage Zones (declared by the Govt. of Kerala). And to celebrate this, Kottayam West Club have organized “Heritage Fest”, a 3 day event.

Entry: Open to all
Pedal-boating &Â house-boating, water sports, cultural programmes and naadan food joints – all three days.

Bharath Mammootty was in town today to inaugurate the M.G. University Youth Festival 2009. The event will run till January 9th as Thirunakkara Maidan as the main stage, and 5 other stages set up at the 3 colleges – Baselios, CMS, and BCM.
Though we couldn’t make it to the ‘press’ area through the insanely-packed crowd we did manage to absorb the spirit at the venue.

Update: The 2011 Darsana Book fair will be held from 28th January – 06th February at Thirunakkara Grounds.
26th Kottayam International Book Fair came to a close today evening after 10 glorious days of smooth running. It was a joy, celebrating it over here at KP. All our Book Fair posts are tagged “bookfair09“, which now serves as a report cum photo feature of the biggest annual event of Kottayam.
Next year, we plan on initiating something that will provide more stats, numbers and facts about the event.
